We have TWO more Eagle Scouts!.

Nathan and Daniel have earned their Eagle Scout Awards! We will be having the Court of Honor on Saturday, August 2. We are hoping many of our friends and family will be able to attend. We are very proud of their accomplishments and sorry that they have had to wait so long for me to get a Court of Honor going. Rob and I went camping for the 24th of July. We went up to Spruces in Big Cottonwood Canyon. We went on a short but pretty intense hike on Wednesday where I slid on some loose dirt going down the hill and twisted my knee pretty bad. So, on Thursday, I mostly sat with my leg up and ice on my knee while I wrote a talk for Sunday. Turned out that the new bishopric member who asked me to speak didn't realize that the High Councilor would bring his own speaking companion and I didn't speak after all! My knee is feeling a lot better now, I guess I need to be more careful next time we are hiking. Anyway the camping trip was very relaxing with no phones or kids or anyone wanting my attention or time. We really enjoyed it. August is looking like a very busy month coming up. Hope we get through it well! On thing that I am very proud of is the fact that I made a slide show DVD of the boys with music for the Court of Honor! I used to have them made when I needed them and then I thought that it would certainly be less expensive to buy software and do them myself. Once I learned the process, it was fun! Stephanie and Jessica were big helps as well! If you are at the Court of Honor, you will see the show!

Things go on as usual!

It has been a long time since I have written anything. Since graduation, we spent some time at Palisades State park with my family and had a really good time. All of our children were there with us at one time or another which is a miracle considering everyone's work schedules. Stephanie is still at the Provo Mariott where she works the 2:30 to 11 shift. Nathan and Daniel are doing an internship at the Jordan School District Office and they work Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:30. Cole is at the Downtown Hilton and he works usually the afternoon shift but sometimes the day shift. Jessica is at the Downtown Mariott where she usually works the afternoon shift as well. Everyone works different days and different times. We wanted to go camping for the 4th of July and didn't get a campsite soon enough so we stayed home and got some things done here. We are painting the trim on our house, (if you have seen our house, you know that is not a small job!) and we are not getting very far because it is so hot during the day we don't do much work on it until late evening. Our goal is to get it finished before the snow flies! Rob and I are hoping to go camping this week for a couple of days. One thing that has happened is that a new animal has come to our family. Christopher and Brittany have a little dog. When I say little it is more like TINY. Her name is Maddie and she is a miniature pincher. She is the runt of the litter and so is smaller than her siblings. She is seven weeks old they have had her for one week. Kyle thinks she is pretty neat! He loves dogs and cars a lot. Jessica and I have been taking Kyle out every morning so that we can exercise. We go to the park and walk about 2 miles. We are hoping to get more fit and be smaller in time. Everyone is happy and we are all healthy.
